The Village of Oak Park is developing a Community Engagement Playbook to create a shared framework for how the Village plans, communicates, and approaches community engagement across projects, programs, initiatives, and policy decisions.

The Playbook is intended to:

  • Create more consistent and transparent engagement practices across Village government
  • Improve how the Village communicates and shares information with the community
  • Support accessible, inclusive, and meaningful participation opportunities
  • Help the public better understand how community input informs decision-making
  • Align engagement efforts with Oak Park’s strategic priorities and nationally recognized best practices

The Playbook will continue to evolve over time to reflect community needs and best practices in public engagement.

    The Village of Oak Park is developing a Community Engagement Playbook to create a more consistent, transparent, and inclusive approach to how we engage with residents, businesses, and community organizations.

    This survey is an opportunity to share your experiences and perspectives on how the Village currently engages with the community. We want to hear what you think is working well, where there are challenges, and how engagement can be improved moving forward.

    The survey should take approximately 5–7 minutes to complete. Your feedback will directly inform how the Village plans, communicates, and incorporates community input into future projects and decisions.
