Community Walkshop

Please join the Village of Oak Park for a Community Evening Walkshop to kick off its Vision Zero initiative on Thursday, October 5, 2023. This meant to be a fun, interactive walking tour to gather feedback about safety concerns in the Village. The tour will begin at 6:45 p.m. outside Village Hall (123 Madison St. Oak Park, IL) and take approximately one hour.

The goal of the walkshop is to have participants out during typical hours related to commuting, evening activities and other walking/biking needs. Dusk and evening hours are the perfect time to understand the experiences residents face in the current infrastructure and the group can experience firsthand some of the opportunities for improvements.

The Oak Park Vision Zero plan strives to eliminate traffic deaths and serious injuries on Village roadways. The planning process will be collaborative, with a variety of public engagement efforts and an analysis of current safety issues.
