The Village of Oak Park is considered an entitlement community by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Each year, the Village receives an annual allocation of funds to primarily assist low- and moderate-income persons, including persons experiencing and at risk of homelessness.
Grant funds are spent based on the Village’s five-year Consolidated Plan for Housing and Community Development, which is developed through input from the community and then submitted to HUD. The Village is in the process of a new Consolidated Plan, which will be submitted to HUD in August of 2025.
A vital aspect of this project is engaging with stakeholders, advocates, and community members to gather their valuable insights and feedback. Your feedback is vital to the Village of Oak Park for input into the Consolidated Plan. This will help the Village understand the community's needs and priorities, guiding our recommendations for the Consolidated Plan.
